We just spent a long weekend in Florence and had a marvelous time.  We chose the Hotel de la Ville as it is located centrally (5 minutes walk from the Duomo and 2 minutes from the Palazzo Strozzi). Rooms were clean and spacious while the staff were very friendly and helpful.  We loved the bar/lounge area and spent many evenings there before an evening stroll.  We were happy with the hotel and would probably return.  Florence is definetely my favourite Italian city, amazing!

I stayed here for a week in July.  I booked the standard double room via internet 2 months previously.  My room was clean and fairly comfortable.  The bathroom was big.  If I’m in Florence again I would go back as the staff were nice compared to some places I’ve stayed.  The hotel was quite modern.  The paintings were a bit dodgy but apart from that it was well decorated.   The food was edible but I felt eating out was better when possible.  The odd night I did stay at the hotel to eat and it was well priced.

Excellent location, unmatchable.  All the monuments were real close.  The hotel is in the main shopping street so we bought all our gifts there and somethings for ourselves!  I’ve stayed in plenty of places during my journeys and I was happy with this hotel.  Good facilities and comfortable rooms.  Staff were generally helpful apart from one guy who could have been more cooperative.  Maybe just abad day.  As for Florence, Mama mia! Simply beautiful.
